Logo Durban Sky Grand Prix

The beaches of Durban –the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal- host the Durban Land, Sea & Air Festival, the first event of its kind to happen in that country. The festivals main event is the Sky Grand Prix of Aerobatics, from 21 to 23 March. There will be the best South African and international pilots will perform heady aerial moves and races over the ocean to see who are the finest and fastest.

The 28th edition of the FAI World Aerobatic Championships will be held next year in France. It’s a challenge for French team who won the last championship that took place in North Texas (United States) October 2013. Francois Le Vot won the Men's Overall title, and two years before, in 2011, his compatriot, Renaud Ecalle. In fact, the French teams have won 6 world titles since the beginning of the firstchampionship, in 1960. They have been always tied with the Russians.

Once again, at the World Aerobatic Championship held October 9th-20th in Texas (USA), France proves to be the guru and top master of the Unknown category. The French team was positioned as the leader after the first and second flights (Q and Free), and made a significant leap in the third flight (Unknown 1) after an adjustment to the first positions in the championship.

Glen Dell dies in an accident in South Africa

Family members of a South African Airways (SAA) pilot whose aircraft crashed during the Secunda Airshow have confirmed that he has died.
Spectators believe the light aircraft's engine stalled seconds before it went down.

Rob Holland has taken his third aerobatic championship title in the Unlimited category at the U.S. National Aerobatic Championship, held at Sherman/Denison airport in Texas. At the controls of his modified MSX, Rob carried the lead from the outset with an excellent Q flight (83.836%), and maintained first position in the two following flights (Free, Free Unknown 1).
